When you develop a anonymising, ad-removing, popup-blocking proxy
server, don’t do what Privoxy
appear to do, which is s/open((.*))/privoxyWindowOpen(1)/g
because then you’ll convert any instances of “open()” in the text,
confusing
people.
Update: Bug
reported, but nothing has happened to it since 2004-06-25.

I used to use Privoxy way back when. Very handy when bandwidth was restricted and pop ups were rife. But with the current browsers I haven’t had a need for it. It also broke a lot of Javascript pages.
What are you using it for?

I’m not. Someone commented on my previous entry asking about privoxyWindowOpen(). Appears they were seeing that rather than open().
